Assoc. Dr. Ozan Şen was born in 1977 in Isparta as the son of teacher parents. When he was 9 years old, he had to be hospitalized for a short time as a result of a 2nd degree burn on his leg and went to the hospital for dressings for a long time. In that process, he personally witnessed how the doctors and health personnel in the hospital worked with devotion. He had already decided to become a doctor at that time. He graduated from Isparta Anatolian High School in 1995 and started his medical education at Ankara University Faculty of Medicine in the same year. The purpose of going to medical school was to become a surgeon. After completing his six-year medical education, he started his specialization in General Surgery again at Ankara University in 2002, and after completing his specialization in 2008, he was appointed to the Van Regional Training and Research Hospital to do his compulsory service.
After a 3-year obligatory service period, which passed at a very intense pace, he fulfilled his long-term military service as a Medical Second Lieutenant. One of the leading experts in breast and thyroid surgery in Turkey, who was also a faculty member for a while after military service, Prof. Dr. He had the opportunity to work one-on-one with Savaş Koçak. Afterwards, he started working at Muğla-Milas Private Izan Hospital in order to be close to his family living in Bodrum-Güllük.
Assoc. Dr. Ozan Şen was interested in laparoscopic surgery from the first years of his assistantship and later improved himself in this direction. In 2013, he became a professor from the faculty, Prof. Dr. He got acquainted with bariatric surgery on the phone he received from Ahmet Türkçapar. He left the hospital where he worked and came to Istanbul. prof. Dr. Ahmet Türkçapar and Prof. Dr. He worked with Mehmet Ali Yerdel under the umbrella of Istanbul Bariatrics Obesity Clinic for 5 years. Dr Ozan Şen has gained great experience and experience in the field of bariatric surgery, advanced laparoscopic techniques and reflux surgery with thousands of case experience in this 10 years.
Dr. Ozan Şen went to the USA twice in 2015, intermittently, in New York Lenox Hill Hospital, where he worked with the world-renowned Dr. He had the opportunity to work with Mitchell Roslin. In 2017, Prof. Together with Ahmet Türkçapar, he attended robotic surgery training at Clevland Clinic in America and received a certificate in this field. Also, in the field of bariatric surgery at Clevland Clinic, Dr. He had the opportunity to work with Thomas Ragula and go into his surgeries. In 2018, he visited the world-renowned Belgian surgeon in the field of obesity surgery, Bruno Dellamans and had the opportunity to participate in surgeries in his clinic.
Dr. Ozan Şen resigned from his position at Istanbul Bariatrics in March 2018 and worked with Prof. Dr. He started working at the Türkçapar Bariatrics clinic, founded by Ahmet Türkçapar. Dr. Ozan Şen attended many national and international congresses in the field of bariatric surgery during this ten-year period and had the opportunity to present his work as a speaker at these congresses. Since childhood, his biggest passion has been deep blues, free diving and spearfishing. Dr. Ozan Şen is married and has a good command of English.
